For teens & parents

A classroom of thirty can't move at your child's pace.

One-on-one sessions for students who've stalled — or who've raced ahead and got bored.

School computer science has an impossible job: one teacher, thirty students, one speed. Some kids are lost by week three and too self-conscious to say so. Others finished the term's work in a fortnight and have been quietly switched off ever since.

Both problems disappear when the session is built for one person.

What sessions look like

They build things they care about

A game, a Discord bot, a website for something they're into. Motivation isn't a problem when the project is theirs.

Questions are free

No classroom of peers to look foolish in front of. Confused students learn much faster when confusion is safe to admit.

School work gets easier too

If they're taking Ontario computer studies (ICS3U/ICS4U), we can work directly alongside the curriculum and their assessments.

For parents

What you should know

You'll know how it's going. After each session you get a short note: what was covered, what went well, what's next. No mystery about what you're paying for.

Sessions are online and recorded on request. No driving anywhere. You're welcome to sit in on the first one.

No long contracts. Book sessions as you go. If your child isn't enjoying it, that's important information and we should talk about it rather than push through.

Before launch: if you'll teach minors, consider a Vulnerable Sector Check and mention it here — it's one of the strongest trust signals for parents, and it costs very little.

Parent questions

What age do you teach from?

Roughly 11 and up. Below that, readiness varies enormously — get in touch and we'll work out whether it's the right moment.

My child says they're "bad at computers."

Very common, and it usually means they got lost early and never got a chance to catch up. One-to-one is exactly the setting where that gets repaired, because we can go back to whatever step actually broke.

Do you follow the school curriculum?

We can. Some students want direct support with ICS3U or ICS4U; others want to build things school doesn't cover. Both work — you choose.

How often should sessions be?

Weekly works best for most students. Fortnightly is workable if they're self-directed between sessions. We'll find the rhythm that fits.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment

Free, about thirty minutes, no pitch. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
