What we collect, and why.
Short version: your name, your email, and what you told us about where you're starting from. Nothing else, and we don't sell any of it.

Who we are
Codebound provides one-to-one programming instruction, online, from Toronto, Ontario. For questions about this policy or about your information, write to hello@codebound.ca.
What we collect
When you sign up or book a call: your name, your email address, which track interests you, and where you're starting from. If you book a call, the time you chose and any notes you added.
If you become a student: the notes, plans and code review from your sessions, plus billing records. Payment card details go to our payment provider and never reach us.
Automatically: nothing beyond what your browser sends to load the page. We run no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, to hold the call, to build a learning plan that fits you, and to keep records of a service you have paid for. That's the whole list. We use it for nothing else.
Who else sees it
Three services process information on our behalf:
Receives and stores what you type into the sign-up form, and emails it to us.
Handles call scheduling and the calendar invitation.
Serves the typefaces. Your browser requests them directly.
Some of these store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where local authorities may be able to access it under their own laws. By using the form you accept that.
We do not sell your information, and we never share it for advertising. If we introduce you to a recruiter, we ask you first and send only what you agree to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become students: deleted within two years. Student records: kept while you're studying and for seven years afterwards, which is what Canadian tax and business record rules require. You can ask us to delete anything we're not legally obliged to keep.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@codebound.ca and we'll respond within 30 days. No charge, and no need to explain why.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
We teach students under 18. Where we do, we take instruction and consent from a parent or guardian, and we share session notes and progress with them.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your email, we'll tell you.
In plain terms
We collect the minimum needed to teach you, we don't track you around the internet, we don't sell anything to anyone, and you can have it all deleted by sending one email.
Start with a conversation, not a commitment
Free, about thirty minutes, no pitch. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
